A Complete Look at Your Mental Health

A psychiatric evaluation gives you the opportunity to talk openly about what you have been experiencing and how it has been affecting your everyday life. During the evaluation, we look at more than just individual symptoms. We take time to understand your emotional well-being, thoughts, behaviors, sleep, energy levels, relationships, medical history, previous mental health experiences, and any medications you may currently be taking. This broader understanding helps us identify patterns and better understand the concerns that brought you in. Whether you have been struggling for a long time or have recently noticed changes in your mood, behavior, or ability to manage daily responsibilities, the evaluation provides a comfortable place to talk through those concerns.

Treatment That Fits Your Needs

Every person has a different history, different circumstances, and different goals for their mental health. Following your evaluation, we take the time to discuss what your symptoms may mean and what treatment options may be appropriate for you. Depending on your individual situation, care may include medication management, therapy recommendations, lifestyle adjustments, GeneSight testing, or a combination of approaches. We explain your options clearly so you can be involved in decisions about your care. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we consider your experiences, preferences, treatment history, and goals when creating a plan that feels realistic and appropriate for where you are right now.

A Clearer Path Forward

Taking the first step toward mental health care can feel uncertain, especially when you are not sure what you are experiencing or what kind of help you need. A psychiatric evaluation can provide a starting point and help bring more clarity to concerns such as anxiety, depression, mood changes, difficulty concentrating, sleep problems, emotional overwhelm, or changes in everyday functioning. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, share what has been happening, and better understand your available options. From there, we can work together on practical next steps and ongoing care that supports your mental health goals and helps you move forward with greater understanding and confidence.

A psychiatric evaluation is a detailed conversation about your mental health, symptoms, personal history, medications, and current concerns. It helps your provider better understand what you’re experiencing and determine appropriate next steps.

An evaluation may be helpful if you’re dealing with ongoing anxiety, depression, mood changes, difficulty sleeping, trouble concentrating, emotional distress, or changes that are affecting your daily life.

Your provider will ask about your symptoms, medical and mental health history, lifestyle, medications, and any concerns you want to discuss. You’ll also have time to ask questions and talk openly about what you’ve been experiencing.

The length can vary depending on your concerns and personal history. Your provider will take the time needed to understand your situation rather than rushing through the appointment.

A diagnosis may be made when there is enough information to support one. In some cases, your provider may recommend additional observation, follow-up visits, or further assessment before reaching a conclusion.

After the evaluation, your provider will discuss their recommendations with you and work with you on a treatment plan. This may include medication management, therapy recommendations, lifestyle changes, additional testing, or follow-up care.
