Angel Snipes, PMHNP-BC
Angel has always been driven by a deep sense of compassion and a commitment to helping others. From an early age, she was known for being an attentive listener—someone who offered unwavering support and comfort without judgment. This natural ability to connect with people led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with the initial goal of becoming a psychiatrist. However, life’s path led her to nursing, where she found her calling in caring for others on a profound level.
Angel began her career as a Trauma ICU nurse, where she worked with some of the most critically ill patients and provided vital emotional support to their families during their most challenging moments. While she found great fulfillment in this role, she realized that her true passion lay in mental health—helping individuals heal not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well.
Determined to bridge this gap, Angel founded Mental Odyssey Psychiatry, a practice dedicated to guiding individuals through their mental health journey with expertise, empathy, and a holistic approach. She understands that mental wellness isn’t just about managing conditions—it’s about helping people live their best lives, even through periods of uncertainty, stress, or emotional pain
Angel firmly believes that therapy is for everyone, not just those diagnosed with mental health conditions. She knows firsthand the power of healing, having personally overcome anxiety. Combining her clinical expertise, real-life experience, and faith-based perspective, she provides a compassionate, judgment-free space where clients can find strength, clarity, and peace.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, or simply seeking a healthier mindset, Angel is here to walk alongside you. With a warm, approachable style and a deep understanding of both science and spirituality, she helps clients feel heard, valued, and empowered on their journey to mental well-being.
You don’t have to face this alone. Let’s take this step together.

What sets Mental Odyssey Psychiatry apart from other online mental health platforms is our commitment to truly individualized, full-spectrum care. We treat a wide range of mental health conditions in adults ages 18 to 64, combining expert medication management with the option for faith-based and holistic approaches tailored to each person’s values and needs. Unlike many one-size-fits-all services, we take the time to build a meaningful partnership with every client, ensuring their voice is central in the treatment process. Our mission is simple: to walk alongside you on your journey and help you achieve the best possible outcome for your mental well-being.
Prior to your first session, you’ll need to complete several forms, enabling us to gain insight into your condition(s) and better understand your needs. In your first session, you’ll meet with your provider, Angel, who will conduct a thorough evaluation and collaborate with you to establish a personalized treatment plan. Subsequent sessions will involve reviewing your progress, conducting further assessments, and adjusting your treatment objectives, including medication management, if necessary.
Currently, we solely offer telehealth services through secure video and phone consultations, catering to patients who prefer virtual appointments. These telehealth sessions are conducted using a HIPAA-compliant, secure, and confidential platform, typically through a meeting link sent via email or text. It’s important to note that you must be located in the state where your designated provider is licensed in order to receive telehealth treatment.
The licensure process for providers varies across different states, typically taking several weeks to months. Angel MSN, PMHNP-BC is presently licensed in Florida, New York, New Mexico, Washington, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Montana, with plans to obtain additional state licenses in the near future. Please be aware that Angel is currently only credentialed with certain insurances in Florida and Washington State, while insurance credentialing for the other states is still pending.
At Mental Odyssey Psychiatry, we accept multiple payment options, including debit cards, credit cards, and several major insurance plans. It is mandatory for all patients to maintain an active, unexpired card on file and to submit the necessary co-pay or payment before each session. For further details on our payment options and insurance coverage, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office.
Given the diversity of insurance plans, we will conduct a thorough verification of your insurance benefits via a clearinghouse before your session. You will receive detailed information regarding any applicable copays or deductibles. In the event that your provider is out-of-network and you attend the session, we can provide you with a “super bill” at no additional cost. This document can be submitted to your insurance carrier or FSA/HSA for potential reimbursement. Please note that it is your responsibility to contact your insurance provider to determine the extent of reimbursement you may receive. To secure your appointment time, we accept credit/debit cards, which will be required at the time of scheduling.
We appreciate the significance of your time and anticipate mutual respect. If you fail to attend your appointment (arriving more than 10 minutes late without prior notice) or cancel after the 24-hour grace period, a $75 fee will be incurred.
You can make payments using different options, such as debit cards, FSA/HSA cards, and credit cards. We also accept several major forms of insurance, while keeping an active payment method on file is mandatory, including the submission of any copays before each session. We are actively working to expand our insurance coverage, including Medicare and Medicaid. Feel free to reach out to our office for further details regarding payment options and insurance coverage.
To request the completion of medical documents, records, or forms, kindly get in touch with our office. We are dedicated to facilitating this procedure and ensuring your needs are met. Please anticipate a 5-7 business day processing period. For established patients, any additional charges for services such as phone calls, letters, emails, reports, and completion of medical documents or forms will be determined based on the time required. The corresponding fee will be billed to the payment method on file.
Our Policy on Controlled Substances at Mental Odyssey Psychiatry
At Mental Odyssey Psychiatry, your safety is our top priority. That’s why controlled substances are prescribed with great care and only when truly necessary. These medications are strictly regulated by the DEA, and providers are held to high standards to ensure responsible prescribing practices. State laws also require additional protocols when prescribing these medications, and we fully comply to protect both you and our practice.
We want you to know: we take the prescribing of controlled substances very seriously.
Expectations for Use: If you’re prescribed a controlled medication, it is essential that you take it exactly as directed. Do not increase, decrease, or stop your medication without first speaking with your provider.
Altering your dosage on your own—also known as self-adjusting—is considered non-compliance and creates significant safety and legal concerns. Unfortunately, this type of non-compliance will result in discharge from our practice.
Please remember:
No Early Refills: Controlled medications will not be refilled before they’re due. This is a legal requirement, and insurance companies will not approve early fills either. Please do not call the office requesting early refills.
No Replacements for Lost or Stolen Medications: You are responsible for keeping your medication secure. If it is lost or stolen, we cannot replace it.
We’re here to support your mental health journey with integrity, safety, and care. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure that medications are used responsibly.
The duration of your treatment can vary significantly and depends on various factors. While some individuals may require medication for a specific period as they navigate through particular situations, others may find it to be an ongoing necessity. Guidelines emphasize the importance of considering factors such as your mental health diagnosis, life stressors, the severity of your condition, and your response to treatment when determining the appropriate duration for medication. As part of my approach, I frequently engage in open discussions with my patients, collaborating with them to create a treatment plan that feels comfortable and effective.
The recommended frequency of your visits can vary significantly, taking into account factors such as your current well-being, the nature of your diagnosis, and the medications you are using. Patients facing significant challenges may benefit from appointments every few days, whereas those experiencing stability may find appointments every three months sufficient. Our practice involves discussing the timing of your next visit during each appointment, and your contribution to this discussion is highly valued and encouraged.
